The release date of Grand Theft Auto VI has been pushed more times than we can count. The reasons all make sense, but they couldn’t be any more startlingly clear than when they’re staring at you right in the face. Because today, a few days after Rockstar Games announced that the game would now be releasing on May 26, 2026, the video game publisher has dropped a second trailer for the game, and the next-level photorealism on display should be ironclad confirmation to fans that the game is very much in good hands.
And with the trailer comes a new synopsis for Grand Theft Auto VI: “According to Rockstar, the game tells the Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida—forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.”
