Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) returns to face fresh foes and woes in season two of Netflix’s Wednesday, arriving on August 6. The show’s second season will be released in two four-episode batches, with the latter half dropping on September 3.
Created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar and executive-produced by director Tim Burton, Wednesday is based on the fork-tongued teenage character from Charles Addams’s iconic franchise The Addams Family, which originated in The New Yorker in 1938. In addition to series regular Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, and Steve Buscemi, the new season will feature guest stars Jamie McShane, Joanna Lumley, Fred Armisen, Christopher Lloyd, and Lady Gaga, among others.
According to Netflix’s press release: “This season, Wednesday must navigate family, friends, and old adversaries, propelling her into another year of delightfully dark and kooky mayhem. Armed with her signature razor-sharp wit and deadpan charm, Wednesday is also plunged into a new bone-chilling supernatural mystery.”
