HBO has released the official teaser trailer for It: Welcome to Derry, debuting this fall on the network’s cable and streaming channels. Set in the world of Stephen King’s It universe, the supernatural horror series is based on King’s 1986 novel and expands the vision established by filmmaker Andy Muschietti in the films It and It: Chapter Two.
Serving as a prequel to Muschietti’s films, It: Welcome to Derry takes place in the seemingly idyllic suburb of Derry, Maine, in 1962, where a Black family has just moved and learns that young children have mysteriously been going missing. The series stars Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe, Rudy Mancuso, and Bill Skarsgård, reprising his role as Pennywise the Clown in the films.
